Alta

We are still in a Winter Wonderland trance at 70 degrees, north. The snow is thick here, and, it is COLD. 26 below, C. Not the coldest we have been on this trip. As long as everything on you is covered and you don't stay out too long, it is tolerable. We took a bus trip today from 10 am to 1 pm. Which means, we left at sunrise and came back at sunset.

Our first stop was the Cathedral of the Northern Lights. An exhibition showed how Alta became the epicenter of ground-breaking research of the aurora borealis between the 19th and 20th centuries.

The Cathedral at sunrise. Our guide was so excited that there is more sun each day. She kept saying, isn't that light beautiful?

The organ. We were told we are only seeing about 10 percent of it. The acoustics are fabulous.

Gold mosaic pictures.

Now I understand Aurora Borealis.

Alta Museum was very nice. The petroglyphs, or rock carvings, are on the UNESCO World Heritage list.

The view outside the museum is gorgeous!

Heading back at sunset!

There we are at the end of the little fjord.

Viking Cruise Ship across the fjord. Too big!!

That's all for now. We are rocking and rolling. Need to get horizontal. Good night!!
