Oslo Walking Tour: Along the water

 Akershus Fortress was completed in 1300! Its strategic location provided protection for the city. The military remains there today. We walked around and through this beautiful property, with its spectacular views.

Gotta love the Norwegians with their saunas along the water. They dip in the water and head to the sauna. We gave this idea a hard pass!!

The most impressive Opera House, across from the saunas. Built out of Carrera marble and white granite to resemble an iceberg rising out of the water. The Opera House was finished in 2008.

Oh, the Oslo Library!!! What an architectural delight. We spent quite a bit of time here, just enthralled at the architecture and beauty.
